HZ Insurance Horizon Day 2024: Connecting Insurance Innovators in the Age of AI 

The HZ Insurance Horizon Day on September 5th is a key event connecting influential insurance leaders with innovative startups and will be the day to address the main challenges and opportunities presented by AI. A welcome address by Karin Bosshard, Editor-in-Chief of HZ Insurance will begin the day and give way to an impressive line-up of speakers shaping the future of the industry. At the end of the day, all attendees will walk away with actionable insights and a clear roadmap for implementation. 

The programme will begin with an overview of the latest trends in the Swiss insurance market. Marco Billeter from Microsoft Switzerland will then provide an overview of the current state of AI and Oliver Delvos from Corvus Insurance will present practical strategies to leverage AI, including guidelines and best practices. The famous AI Act will also be reviewed. To balance the excitement, Sandra Kurmann from the Swiss Insurance Association (SVV) will address the importance of responsible AI supervision and regulatory compliance. Dr. Thomas Dübendorfer, President of Smart Money for Swiss Startups SICTIC and experienced business angel, will then lead a discussion on attracting venture capital investment. Last but not least, synergies between insurers and insurtechs will also be celebrated in a panel discussion with Dominique Kasper, Head of Property & Casualty Insurance at AXA Switzerland, highlighting how established players can drive innovation.
