SVV: First ‘Cyber Insurance Summit Switzerland’.

The first ‘Cyber Insurance Summit Switzerland’ organised by the Swiss Insurance Association SVV promises an exciting programme. The high-calibre speakers come from the fields of cyber insurance and cyber security in Switzerland, with a look beyond the country’s borders to the UK.

Dr Martin Jara, CEO of Helvetia Insurance Switzerland, reported on the progress made in cyber resilience over the past year at the 2nd Helvetia Cyber Symposium on 21 August 2024. This includes the upgrading of the National Centre for Cyber Security to the Federal Office for Cyber Security (BACS) and the expanded data situation in Switzerland, which was created by the Swiss Insurance Association (SVV), among others.

During the Cyber Insurance Summit, questions will be asked such as ‘What contributions do insurers make to resilience in Switzerland?’ ‘How is the cooperation between different players in the value chain organised?’ ‘What role does the Federal Office for Cybersecurity (BACS) play?’ ‘How is the financial sector preparing for a cyber crisis?’ The opportunities and challenges for the Swiss cyber insurance market will also be discussed and preventive approaches to increasing insurability will be explored.
